At HaïPlast Recycling, we are dedicated to reducing plastic waste in Haiti and improving the working and living conditions of plastic waste collectors. We transform environmental and social challenges into business opportunities by collecting, sorting, processing, and selling recycled plastic materials to manufacturers.

We envision a Haiti where plastic waste is minimized, recycling is maximized, and waste collectors work in safe, dignified conditions with fair compensation. We aim to be the leading plastic recycling company in Haiti, setting the standard for environmental sustainability and social impact.
Environmental & Social Challenges
Waste Management Crisis
In Port-Au-Prince, only 7% of waste is collected by public services. Most waste ends up in unofficial dumps or waterways, causing serious environmental and health issues.
Plastic Pollution Impact
Plastic waste clogs drainage systems, causing flooding, and eventually reaches the ocean where it threatens marine life. 98% of solid waste found in the sea is plastic material.
Collector's Conditions
Waste collectors in Haiti work in dangerous conditions without proper equipment, facing health risks. They earn approximately $4 per day to support families of 6+ people.

Founded in February 2011 by Duckencia F. Bourdierd and Luis Bourdierd, HaïPlast Recycling began operations with a mission to address Haiti's growing plastic waste crisis. We made our first sales in October 2012 and have been steadily growing our impact ever since. By 2014, we had achieved a revenue of $153,000 USD and processed over 3 million pounds of plastic materials.
